CheerQuest has four Performance Recreational Cheer (PRC) Teams

Performance Recreational Cheer (PRC) is defined as a competitive rec division that has level restrictions PRC teams are NOT associated with a school program supporting a recreational team (i.e. youth football, pee wee sports, community sports teams, etc.). PRC would follow the same 2 and ½ minute routine format with cheer/sideline and music and all other rules and regulations. Teams in Performance Rec divisions often practice on average 2-3 times a week, have competition practices and/or compete on a regular basis.

Team SKY

Sky consists of athletes in grades K-3rd. This team will focus on the introduction to cheer but will progress this impressionable age into the more difficult aspects of competitive cheer.  Skills focused on are a novice but will including a wider range of full spectrum competitive cheerleading. 

They will practice (2-3) two-hour practices per week.  This team will make appearances, exhibition, and compete their routines within the Illinois area.  We also encourage individuals to take an extra tumbling class or privates from their preferred instructor.

 

Team LIGHTNIN'

Lightnin consisting of athletes in grades 3rd-5th. These kids are exceptional athletes with great skill potential. These team members will focus on beginner to intermediate level skills, paving their way to a bigger and brighter future for cheer.  Team members are expected to perform, with proper training, front and back walkovers while learning front handsprings, standing back handsprings as well as strong jumps, motions, and stunt techniques.  

This team will make appearances, exhibition, and compete their routines within the Illinois area as well as regionally.  The team will have (2-3) - two-hour practices. We also encourage individuals to take an extra tumbling class or privates from their preferred instructor.

Team THUNDER                           

Team THUNDER consisting of athletes in grades 6th-8th. This team is available for the novice/intermediate members and those getting ready for the advanced level of competition. Most of these athletes have about two years of experience at the competitive level. 

Team members are expected to perform, with proper training, front and back walkovers while learning front handsprings, standing back handspring, multiple backhand springs as well as strong jumps, motions, and stunt techniques.  

Team THUNDER will make appearances, exhibition,  and compete their routines within the Illinois area as well as regionally.  THUNDER will have (2-3) - 2-hour practices per week plus an additional 1 hour tumbling from their preferred instructor.

Team STORM

Team STORM consisting of athletes in High School and desire to participate in competitive cheer only. This team is available for the novice/intermediate/advanced members. Most of these athletes have about two years of experience at the competitive level. 

Team members are expected to perform, with proper training, front and back walkovers while learning front handsprings, standing back handsprings, multiple backhand springs and tucks as well above average jumps, motion technique, and performance presence. 

Team STORM will make appearances, exhibition, and compete their routines within the Illinois area as well as regionally.  STORM will have (2-3) - 2-hour practices per week plus an additional 1-hour tumbling class from their preferred instructor.

I want to thank all the coaches and cheerleaders or welcoming my daughter to the team this year. Just moving back to the state was hard, but you made her as if she always belonged. From a mom that came from sideline cheer to competitive cheer it has a great experience. Thank you all. - Bonnie
